My Story

In August 2011, inspired by Jack Kerouac's “On the Road,” I set out to explore Iceland and the United States over the course of ten weeks in a rental car with unlimited mileage.

It was an ambitious adventure, one that I will never forget, a trip that would forever change my life. I slept in a homeless shelter/hostel in Memphis, hiked ten miles in a Grizzly infested forest in Jackson Hole, braved snow storms, rain, and drove through dense fog at night (no lights on the road) thousands of feet over the Oregon coast. I got lost and mistakenly spent 1.5 hours driving through the Mendocino Forest at night. I spent countless hours driving – often long, 12-hour days.

I finally returned home on November 4th. I remember pulling into the driveway with an ear to ear smile on my face, “I made it” — I felt great!

When I woke up the next day on November 5th, I experienced “brain fog” for the first time in my life and noticed that the majority of foods I ate made me feel incredibly fatigued, which was strange because I was energized and enthusiastic on the road. After eating, I would have no choice but to lay down on the couch and sleep for 15 minutes or so, and upon waking I felt unbalanced and foggy.

I was confused, I didn’t understand what was happening. I went to see a host of doctors. Finally, a holistic doctor in NYC told me that I had food sensitivities, and that there’s not much I can do about it,  “sometimes they just go away” he said, “but they may return.” I was quickly becoming malnourished, and losing weight. I was depressed and sad; emotionally, mentally, and physically broken. I spent my days researching on the internet, hoping to find something to help reverse engineer my food sensitivities — I refused to accept my current condition. This went on for ten years. My life was on hold as I diligently exhausted all resources possible, and spent my days fixated on the possibility of reverse engineering my new found food sensitivities.

In March 2020, I serendipitously ran into a woman in Chandler, AZ. That morning I had an awful reaction to a sip of coffee, we talked about food sensitivities. She said, “you should try NMT.” I said what’s NMT? She replied “NeuroModulation Technique, it’s really great for food sensitivities.” And so I did. After one session, I was able to eat anything I want, anywhere I want, anytime I want. I gained 25 pounds in two weeks. My suffering was finally over.

A few months later, I decided to study NMT, with the intention of finding other people like me who want to achieve optimal wellbeing and live life to the fullest. In November, 2021, I began coaching clients and created Resonate NMT LLC.
